We are proud to report two recent victories for young Nottinghamshire golfers in Midland competitions. Worksop’s George Cordall, who is on a golf scholarship in America, returned home to win the prestigious Midland Youths Championship at Stoke Rochford on 4th July. Opening with consecutive rounds of 5 under par 65, George returned a final score of 273 to win by two strokes.
On 8th July, Theo Nelson (Coxmoor) won the Midland Boys Closed Championship at Burghley Park. Theo trailed by 5 after a first round 72, and then shot a magnificent course record 8 under par round of 62 (8 birdies, no bogeys) to win by 4 strokes.
Both George and Theo are products of our junior system, and have worked very hard to achieve their success. Huge congratulations to both.
