The final match of the season against Leicestershire as rearranged from the lightning affected one in June was not the grand finale that we had hoped for.
Despite almost perfect conditions the morning foursomes went the way of Leics in all but the last match with messrs Banks and Clarke getting the only win and point for Notts. Looking for an afternoon fightback on a much breezier Scraptoft course, 2 wins were gained early by John Denman with President Rob Sallis and by Willie Colquhoun and Andy Cook. Sadly we were unable to add to these and Leicestershire gained a pretty commanding 13-5 victory.
This was Leicestershire Captain, Paul Lowe's last match as it was my own and numerous thanks were distributed to all those who had supported the teams during our tenure and from me many thanks went to Stan Yeomans for his unstinting work behind the scenes and support at the matches and to all the players for their efforts during the last 2 seasons. I shall reflect on the last 2 years with much pride and wish my successor, Fraser Darrington and his squad all the best in the future.
