ALBANS RETAINS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

The 2023 County Junior Boys Strokeplay and Handicap Championships were played on Fri 4 Aug at Wollaton Park GC.

Despite the showery forecast, the weather remained dry for the whole day and the boys played in excellent golfing conditions.

Despite two bogeys in the morning round, Lennon Albans continued his recent excellent form to post a one under par round of 70. Callum Smith and Charlie Cooke were in hot pursuit with rounds of 73.

Great play continued into the afternoon round, the highlight of which was a hole in one on the 2nd by Lennon Albans as he pushed on to retain his title.

A 2nd round score of 69 gave him a fantastic two round score of 139 – winning by 8 strokes from Callum Smith (147) and Charlie Cooke (149)

Lennon and Jacob Mitchell now turn their attention to college education and golf in the US – we wish them every success

In the one round Handicap Championship Henry Keeton posted a fantastic nett 64 to win the Championship – his golf was solid all day and this was a well deserved win

Zac Harrison came in 2nd on count back from Lucas Hedstrom both with excellent scores of 68 nett

Many thanks to all the parent and supporters who followed both championships all day
