MENS
The Semi-finals saw the opening match between County Champion Mark Porter and Lennon Albans. This was a keenly fought contest between 2 of the county’s best players, with some high-quality golf being played. The result of the match was a win for Mark Porter by a margin of 2&1.
In the second semi-final county veteran Ross Overton took on Jake Benson, again a great match which resulted in a victory for Overton by a margin of 1 up.
SENIORS
The opening match in the Seniors semi-final saw Coxmoor’s Mark Betteridge take on Chilwell’s Neil Sanderson. Two highly experienced and very capable players. The result of that match was a win for Neil Sanderson by a margin of 5/4. The second match was between defending Champion Charles Banks and county senior’s newcomer Mick Hancock. Banks ran out the winner by 1 up.
MEN’S FINALS
Mark Porter v Ross Overton, the match of great quality and county amateur golf at its finest, after a great tussle Ross Overton won by 2/1.
SENIOR’S FINALS
Neil Sanderson v Charles Banks, was a fine match, we are blessed in the county to have much strength in the senior’s section. A good match and a win for Banks 5 & 4.
Great thanks to Sherwood Forest, the Championship course of the season. It was simply magnificent again; we are blessed with one of the best golf courses in the county.
