Duel in the sun

Two days of glorious weather at a well presented Nottinghamshire GC was all that the County Boys needed for the 2026 Matchplay Championship.Some great golf on both days culminated in a Final between Brandon Baldwin from Mapperley and Jack Bradley from OakmereAfter struggling a bit on the first 9 holes, Brandon came into his own sinking a 25ft putt on the 18th green to take the match to extra holes.Jack was very unlucky with his drive on the 1st extra hole which ends up in a ditch but he still carded a par - however, Brandon sank a 6ft putt for birdie to win the match - the first time he had been ahead all day.In the 3rd place play off, Oscar Price played his Newark teammate Archie Ellison and came out on top by 1 hole. Fantastic golf by all the boys over the two days
