NOTTS AMATEUR & NOTTS OPEN REPORT
The county blue ribbon event took place at Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club today, players were welcomed to a course in stunning condition, but with it being extremely hot, which made scoring difficult, the leading score in the morning was from Beeston Fields professional Connor Ashby who shot level par, there were 2 scores at one over and the leading amateur was Tom Martin from the home club with a 72 gross.

With this being a 36 hole event, all was to play for in the afternoon round.

There are 2 trophies for the amateur golfers to play for, the amateur trophy and the open trophy, the pros can only win the open trophy.

After a closely fought afternoon, the winner of the amateur trophy was Matt Hogg from Rushcliffe GC with a 2 round total of 75 +70 = 145.

In 2nd place was Tom Martin from ROT GC with a total of 71 +75 =146.

In 3rd place was Theo Nelson from Coxmoor with a total of 73 +74 =147.

In the Open Trophy the winner was Ben Hall (Pro) from Rushcliffe GC with a total of 71 + 69 = 140

The winner of the Youths trophy was Theo Nelson from Coxmoor GC who shot a total of 73 + 74 = 147. The Youths trophy can only be won by someone under the age of 21.

The winner of the Team Trophy was ROT GC, who will represent Nottinghamshire in the English Champion Club Championship later in September this year.

Huge thanks to Radcliffe on Trent for hosting the event.
